The Owassa Headwaters Foundation was formed in 2022 with the vision of abundant, clean water that flows to the Delaware River through Sussex County, New Jersey. Geographically, our focus is on impact to headwaters in Newton and Branchville, NJ - specifically Lake Owassa, Culver Lake, Dry Brook and the Upper Paulinskill River.

The foundation goal is to reduce stormwater runoff contaminants, including phosphorus, that enter the headwaters. Through long-term planning, management and partnerships the goal is to find restoration measures that restore water quality. through mitigation solutions that may be applied on a broad basis.
